We never log into LinkedIn

CareerHound is an AI job-search copilot. It drafts your outreach, tailors your resume, and tracks your pipeline. You approve and send everything yourself.

What we never do

• We never ask for your LinkedIn password.
• We never store a LinkedIn session, cookie jar, or browser profile.
• We never open linkedin.com from our code. No headless browser, no overlay, no extension that clicks for you.
• We never send a connection request, message, comment, or invite on your behalf.

Data in

You import LinkedIn’s official “Get a copy of your data” export (Settings → Data privacy): typically Connections.csv, Invitations.csv, and messages.csv. You can also paste a profile into the Hub. That is the whole inbound path.

Actions out

The Hub produces drafts and links. Each Action Queue item has Copy (clipboard) and Open profile (your default browser). You paste and click Send yourself. We do not click Send.

Why this protects your account

Tools that log in and fire invites from a script put your account next to bulk-send traffic. CareerHound never holds that login, so a bug, a stolen laptop copy of the app, or a misconfigured schedule cannot blast your network. Your credentials stay in the browser you already trust.

ToS posture

LinkedIn’s terms restrict unattended access and bulk actions performed by software on your account. CareerHound is designed so the product itself does not access LinkedIn. You still follow LinkedIn’s rules for how you use the site. We are not affiliated with LinkedIn Corporation. Using any outreach tool, including a copilot that only drafts, remains your responsibility.

What we do store locally

Contacts from your CSV, drafts, pipeline stages, resume tailor output, and analytics you choose to keep live on your machine. Optional cloud: the AI provider you pick (unless you use local Ollama), FastSpring for checkout, and license checks if a server URL is set. See Privacy.
